Red Hat Advanced Cluster Management for Kubernetes 2.14 is now generally available! This release empowers users with enhancements in virtualization management, operational efficiency, and policy control. Key features include deeper virtual machine observability, virtual machine snapshot and restore, and enhanced policy test automation. Additionally, with Advanced Cluster Management available in the AWS Marketplace, hybrid cloud management is simplified and on-demand billing is available directly from your cloud committed spend programs.
Elevating Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization management
Advanced Cluster Management 2.14 enhances Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization management in two significant ways:
- Enhanced virtual machine observability: New dashboards offer insight into your virtual machine fleet health, including status and resource utilization (CPU, memory, network). Benefit: Proactive resource management and faster troubleshooting.
- Advanced virtual machine snapshot actions: Directly create, manage, and delete virtual machine snapshots for easier data protection and operational resilience.
- Benefit: Quickly backup or revert virtual machines, minimizing downtime.
The following capabilities provide a cohesive management experience for both container and virtual machine landscapes.
Strengthening governance with policy test automation
Users can now more confidently implement governance with the general availability of policy test automation. The new dryrun command in the policy command-line interface simulates policy application without enforcement, reporting potential impacts enabling policies to be deployed to production and mission critical environments with confidence. This lets users proactively assess policy effects, helping to reduce the risk of unintended side effects, streamline testing, and maintain a strong grip on your governance.
Streamlined procurement and operations: Advanced Cluster Management on AWS Marketplace
Simplify procurement with Advanced Cluster Management on AWS Marketplace. This on-demand offering provides:
- Simplified billing: Consolidate ACM with your AWS bill.
- Flexible consumption: Choose pay-as-you-go or yearly consumption.
- Cost optimization: Avoid over-provisioning.
- Enhanced visibility: Track usage with AWS tools.
- Benefit for Ops/Procurement: Streamlined acquisition, better cost control, and alignment with cloud-native consumption especially for Red Hat OpenShift Services on AWS (ROSA) users.

Enhanced hub operations and customization
Hub operations now allow you to see Global Hub features on existing Advanced Cluster Management instances. This means greater deployment flexibility and potential for cost optimization by using an existing Advanced Cluster Management hub for Global Hub.
You can also rename your local-cluster
. By customizing the hub cluster name, you can improve clarity and organization of your assets, and align your cluster with your existing datacenter naming conventions.
Expanding possibilities: Key technical preview features
Red Hat Advanced Cluster Management 2.14 also includes practical technical preview features, offering a glimpse into future innovations:
- Progressive sync for ApplicationSets: Implement safer, staged rollouts for ApplicationSets, ensuring health before proceeding to the next stage, mitigating deployment risks.
- Fine-grained RBAC for virtual machines: Filter virtual machine views based on user namespace access rights. This helps enhance security and the user experience by displaying only authorized virtual machines to specific users.
- ROSA Hosted Control Plane (HCP) Cluster Lifecycle Management: Create, upgrade, destroy, and scale ROSA Hosted Control Plane clusters directly from Advanced Cluster Management. This centralizes ROSA HCP lifecycle management using declarative infrastructure as code principles, reducing manual effort.
- Submariner support for IPv6: Future-proof your applications and infrastructure, ensuring they remain compatible with new and emerging services that may be IPv6-only.
