レッドハット株式会社(東京都千代田区 平野正信社長)は、従来の日本語でのトレーニングに加え、新たに英語でのトレーニングを開始すると発表した。
これは日本在住の外国人技術者からの、数多くのリクエストに応えたものであり、これにより、日本国内で、世界標準となったレッドハットのトレーニングを日本語でも英語でも受講できることとなる。
また、顧客の要望に応じて客先に出向いて行う「オンサイトトレーニング」については、すでにRHCE系、RHD系全コースの英語トレーニングが随時開催可能だという。
RHCEトレーニング/認定プログラムは、Linux初心者からネットワークプロフェッショナルまで、受講者のレベルに合った複数のトレーニングコースと認定試験で構成され、実務に沿った実習形式のトレーニングが行われている。
日本では、99年11月にRHCEトレーニング/認定プログラムがスタート。 RHCE認定試験では実技試験が行われるなど、その実務を重視した点が高く評価されており、現在までに日本国内で1200人以上、世界中で6000人以上のRHCE認定資格者を輩出しており、その内容についても、Certification Magazine誌主催のIT資格の教育的質に関する調査(2002年3月)において、総合一位を獲得するなど、世界中で高い評価を得ている。一方で、RHCE認定資格取得に向けてのマイルストーンとして、2001年8月からRHAP(Red Hat Accredited Professional)認定資格制度を新たに導入、好評を博している。
