국내에서는 처음으로 개최되는 ‘리눅스월드코리아2006’에서는 세계 주요 리눅스 전문가들이 대거 방한, 리눅스 관련 신기술과 오픈소스 분야의 최신 기술을 소개할 예정이다. 6월 5일부터 사흘간의 일정으로 서울 삼성동 코엑스에서 전시회 및 컨퍼런스가 각각 개최된다. 레드햇에서는 6월 7일 엔터프라이즈 리눅스 부문 총괄 책임자인 스캇 크렌쇼(Scott Crenshaw)가 방한하여, ‘오픈 소스의 진화’를 주제로 기조 연설을 할 예정이다.
레드햇 코리아는 이번 행사에서 가상화 환경에서 다양한 오픈소스 솔루션을 선보일 예정이다. 최근 주목 받고 있는 가상화 솔루션인 젠(Xen) 기반에서 레드햇 엔터프라이즈 리눅스(RHEL: Red Hat Enterprise Linux), 레드햇 글로벌 파일 시스템(Global File System) 및 클러스터 스위트(Cluster Suite)를 구현하여, 현장에서 관람자들이 직접 신기술을 체험할 수 있도록 한다는 계획이다.

한편, 레드햇 공식 인증을 받은 국내 유수 어플리케이션 업체들인, 알티베이스, 이스트소프트, 웨어밸리, 리눅스코리아, 코디얼 및 테라스테크놀러지 등 6개사의 솔루션들이 레드햇 엔터프라이즈 리눅스 기반에서 시연된다.
