이번 채용은 레드햇이 운영하는 리눅스 관리자 과정을 교육하는 강사를 비롯해 세일즈 엔지니어 분야에 걸쳐 진행되며, e-마케팅 및 웹 어드민(Admin) 분야에는 인턴 프로그램을 실시한다. 채용기간은 적임자 채용시까지 이다.
강사에는 리눅스 교육에 2년 이상 경력이 있는 자, 세일즈 엔지니어에는 리눅스 영업 및 개발에 2년 이상 경력이 있는 자이면 누구나 지원 가능하며, 레드햇의 공인 자격증인 RHCE(Red Hat Certified Engineer) 혹은 RHCA(Red Hat Certified Architect) 보유자는 우대 채용할 방침이다. 한편 e-마케팅 분야에는 3개월 계약의 유급 인턴을 모집하며 웹 프로그래밍(HTML/XHTML/CSS) 숙련자를 우대한다.
레드햇코리아는 국내 오픈소스 저변 확대를 위해 개발자 커뮤니티 활성화에 앞장서고 있으며 내부의 교육 프로그램 외에 ‘레드햇 아카데미’를 운영, 대학 및 기관들의 정규 교과과정에 리눅스 과정을 포함시켜 미래 핵심 인력인 학생들의 교육에 기여하고 있다. 또한 지난해 인수한 SOA를 위한 오픈소스 미들웨어 플랫폼인 제이보스의 교육과정도 신설해 국내 오픈소스 시장 확대에 앞장서고 있다.
현재 국내 RHCE 및 RHCT(Red Hat Certified Technician) 자격증 보유자 수는 500여명이며, 최상위 레벨 자격증인 RHCA의 보유자는 8명이다. 또한 레드햇코리아는 2002년 국내에 진출한 이후 현재까지 리눅스 교육 프로그램을 운영하며 1,500 여명 이상의 수강생을 배출하는 등 전문 기술 인력 양성에 힘써 왔다.
