レッドハット株式会社（本社：東京都港区、代表取締役社長：藤田祐治、以下レッドハット）は、Linux OSの最新版「Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5」の提供開始に伴い、最新版で強化された機能を効率的に習得し、LinuxOSに関する技術を、より高いレベルで身につけたい方に向けた新たなトレーニングコース「Red Hat アップデートコース」の受講申し込みを本日より開始し、7月24日より開講します。
本コースは、レッドハット初のアップデートトレーニングです。Xenによる仮想化など「Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5」で追加された機能を中心に、旧バージョンの「Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3」、「Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4」からの変更点や追加点に焦点を当てた、いわゆる「差分」を習得できるトレーニングを行います。サーバレベルのシステム管理者向け認定資格「Red Hat Certified Engineer(RHCE)」を既に取得、もしくは同等のスキルレベルをお持ちの方に最適で、これまでに習得している知識や技術をベースに効率良く最新OSについて学ぶことができます。
価格は、トレーニングと認定資格試験を合わせた4日間のコース が199,500円（コース番号：RHUP304、トレーニング3日間、認定資格試験1日間、税込）、トレーニングのみで3日間のコースが178,500円（コース番号：RHUP305、トレーニング3日間、税込）です。第1回目のトレーニングは7月24日に開講します。その後は、およそ1ヶ月に2回程度の開催を予定しています。受講申し込みはレッドハットのホームページで本日より受付を開始します。
レッドハットの教育事業は「Red Hat Training and Certification」という名称で世界共通のプログラムとして提供しています。「Red Hat Training and Certification」は、Linuxをはじめ様々なオープンソース・ソフトウェアを使用する技術者のスキル向上を目的とし、トレーニングコースと認定資格で構成されます。認定資格は、Linux技術者のスキルと用途に合わせて4種類提供されています。最上位に位置し、総合的なアーキテクトを目指す方向けの「Red Hat Certified Architect（RHCA）」、 サーバレベルのシステム管理者向け「Red Hat Certified Engineer(RHCE)」、サーバ管理を除くシステム管理者向け「Red Hat Certified Technician(RHCT)」、RHCE取得を前提として、特にセキュリティの専門資格としての「Red Hat Certified Security Specialist（RHCSS）」が設けられています。トレーニングは実習（ハンズオン）が中心で、より実務に近い環境で最新の技術を身につけることが可能です。
