Red Hatは2008年11月に、大幅に強化されたサービスレベルとLinuxの実証済みの優位性を組み合わせて、それまでは高価なレガシープラットフォーム上でのサポートしか考えられなかったワークロード向けに Advanced Mission-Critical Programを発表しました。この世界規模のプログラムは、Red Hat Enterprise Linuxサーバに前例のないサービスレベル、サポート、および10年にわたる製品ライフサイクルを提供するよう設計されました。同プログラムがミッションクリティカルなお客様に提供するメリットには、運用コストの減少、取得コストの減少、および極めて高い可用性が含まれます。

日立はRed Hat Advanced Mission-Criticalパートナーとして、基幹向けシステムにRed Hat Enterprise Linuxを活用しているお客様のニーズに応えるために、日本で新しいサポートサービスを提供します。
その提供するサービスでは、製品初期バージョンの出荷からのサービス終了までの標準サポートサービス期間を7年から10年間へ延長するほか、Red Hat Enterprise Linuxのアップデート(*１)の標準サポートサービス期間を6ヶ月から18ヶ月へ延長するとともに、重要不具合に限定したOSの対策版(パッチ)および修正情報を提供します。
*1対象はRed Hat Enterprise Linux 5.4, および5.6(予定)。
