The Red Hat Ansible Certified Collection for Terraform has been updated to support HashiCorp Terraform Enterprise

We continue to expand our certified integrations with HashiCorp Terraform. With the Red Hat Ansible Certified Collection for HashiCorp Terraform availability, organizations can use Ansible Automation Platform together with Terraform Enterprise and HCP Terraform to gain enterprise capabilities for infrastructure lifecycle management. This release makes it easier for teams to unify their automation efforts between Ansible Automation Platform and Terraform Enterprise and HCP Terraform.

The provider for initiating Ansible Automation Platform workflows from HashiCorp Terraform was recently updated. This new integration enables Ansible Automation Platform users to initiate and manage HashiCorp Terraform workflows to build robust, combined workflows that harness the strengths of both platforms, creating an integrated approach to IT operations. Now, an Ansible Playbook can smoothly orchestrate a HashiCorp Terraform plan, leading to a cohesive strategy for your entire infrastructure lifecycle—from initial provisioning to ongoing configuration and management. Allow HashiCorp Terraform to provision infrastructure on Day 0, then transition to Ansible Automation Platform for Day 1 configuration and Day 2 operations, with Terraform performing infrastructure drift detection and updates. 

This release enables full automation of  infrastructure-as-code (IaC) management and provisioning with HashiCorp Terraform, using Ansible Automation Platform as the central orchestration hub for your automation efforts. Providing a fully supported enterprise-grade lifecycle automation solution that is resilient, consistent and more focused on security, this integration can help improve efficiency by automating the configuration, deployment and lifecycle management of your cloud infrastructure, freeing up valuable time and resources.

A key feature of this integration is the ability to review HashiCorp Terraform plan output before any changes are applied within a workflow. This functionality introduces an essential approval gate, guaranteeing that all infrastructure deployments initiated by HashiCorp Terraform can be vetted and approved before Ansible Automation Platform proceeds with subsequent configuration tasks. This step minimizes errors and enhances control over your infrastructure management.
